Warranty on repairs
Repairs and any parts installed are covered for a minimum of ninety days after you receive the unit back from us. Any unit that develops a problem within that period and is returned to us will be repaired free of charge provided the listed flat rate fee was paid at the time of original repair. This warranty is a warranty of repair and does not extend to cover physical damage. This would include being left under sprinklers, fire (happened before the sprinklers), run over by a truck, dropped in concrete, etc. Yes, all of those things happen to calculators and we do not consider that a warranty issue. But, if we didn't fix it correctly, we want to make it right.
In the unlikely event you need to return a unit for rework, please contact us first so that it can receive expedited processing and is not treated as a normal incoming repair. Our rework rate is less than 0.5% so when one does come back, we want to know why!
Payment for repairs
We happily accept personal and company checks. In addition, you can pay by Master Card, Visa, Amex and Discover cards. If you pay by check and send it with the calculators, the check is held until repair is complete and shipment is made. Credit cards are not charged until units are repaired and prepared for shipment.
Units received without any payment information, once repaired, will be returned USPS COD when possible. The exact USPS COD fee will be added to the invoice. Units for which there is no other means will be not shipped until payment is received unless prior arrangements have made. We are a very small endeavor. As such, there is no accounting department to handle credit checks, purchase orders and receivables. Purchase orders can be accepted on a pre-approved basis only with an additional $25 processing fee due to the additional costs. Please understand we do everything possible to keep costs low and have found purchase orders and the accounting overhead incurred is a real expense that we do not want to pass on to those who are willing to pay when repairs are complete. In the event that your unit cannot be repaired, you've paid with a check and you want the defective unit returned, any balance between the evaluation fee and your payment will be refunded by check.
Export policy
We are happy to ship both repairs and store sales outside the USA. We have found the most effective way is the US Postal Service as the cost for both transportation and customs duties are the lowest of any method. All parcels sent from us will bear our return address and a factual customs declaration stating the contents of the package. For returning repaired calculators, the declaration will be classified as "Returned Goods" and the description will be "Used Hewlett-Packard Calculator being returned after repairs" with the value being the cost of repair that you paid. For units that we sell, the declaration will be "Merchandise" and the description will reflect what was sold with the value being the invoice amount.
Please understand that we have no control over what your local customs policies may be and will not be responsible for any fees and duties you must pay when the package is delivered. We have found that many countries do not charge duty on repaired items and some waive fees on purchased items as well. But, again, this is something that is beyond our control and you are advised to consult with your local postal authorities on what fees may be assessed when you receive your shipment.
